TAOT: Thomas' Train (Re-Upload)

Narrator: Thomas was grumbling to the others as he worked his engine in the yard, bringing coaches to the Big Station. 

Thomas: "I spend my time shunting coaches about the yard, ready for you and your engines to take out on journeys".

Narrator: The other drivers and their firewomen only laughed.

Thomas: "Why can't I pull passenger trains too?"

Gordon: "Little Thomas, you're too impatient"

Henry: "Precisely, you'd be sure to leave something behind"

Thomas: "Rubbish, I'll show you"

Narrator: One night, he and Henry were alone, Henry was ill, the doctors worked hard but he didn't get better. He felt just as bad next morning. Henry usually pulled the morning local, and Thomas had to get his coaches ready.

Thomas: *pondering in his engine's cab* "If Henry is ill, then perhaps Twilight and I shall pull his train". 

Narrator: So away Thomas and Twilight went to fetch the coaches. 

Thomas: "Come along, Come along" 

Stewardess: "There's plenty of time, there's plenty of time" 

Twilight: "Thomas, no need to rush so quickly."

Narrator: Thomas brought them to the platform and wanted to run his engine round in front, but Twilight wouldn't let him. 

Twilight: "Don't be impatient Thomas"

Narrator: Thomas waited and waited. People got in, the porters helped load their luggage into the luggage van as the guard and stationmaster walked up and down the platform. Then the porter banged the door and still, Henry hadn't arrived. Thomas was getting more and more excited. The Fat Controller and Celestia came from their offices to see what was the matter. And the guard and the stationmaster told them about Henry. 

Fat Controller: "Hmmm, must be from being in the tunnel for so long"

Celestia: "Find another driver"

Stationmaster and Guard: "Thomas is the only one available Ma'am".

Fat Controller: "You'll have to do it then Thomas, so be quick now"

Narrator: So Thomas ran his engine round and backed unto the front carriage.

Twilight: "Don't be impatient, wait till everything is ready."

Narrator: But Thomas was too excited to listen to a thing she had said. What happened then, no one knew. Perhaps they forgot to couple Thomas' engine to the train, or perhaps Thomas in his excited state pulled the lever by mistake. Anyhow Thomas started. As he passed the first signal box, Luna and Cheerilee were waving and shouting but he didn't stop"

Luna: "THOMAS! YOU FORGOT YOUR TRAIN!"

Thomas: "They're waving because I'm such a splendid driver. Henry says it's hard to pull trains, but I think it's easy. Hurry, Hurry, Hurry"

Narrator: Thomas was passing by a rail crossing, where a lorry and several cars were waiting as several children and their parents waved. 

Thomas: "People have never seen me pull a train before, so it's nice of them to wave"

*blows his whistle*

Thomas: "Thank you!"

Narrator: Thomas soon spotted another signal box, with the signal set at "DANGER"

Thomas: "Bother, I must stop, and both Twilight and I were going so nicely too. What a nuisance signals are"

Narrator: So Thomas applied the brakes and the signalman ran up.

Signalman: "Hullo Thomas what are you doing here?"

Thomas: "We're pulling a passenger train, can't you see?"

Signalman: "If you are, where are your coaches then?"

Narrator: Then Twilight realized.

Twilight: "Well Bless Me, if we haven't left them behind!" *to Thomas* "I told you not to rush things!"

Signalman: "Yes, and you'd better go back to collect them quickly."

Narrator: Poor Thomas was so sad, he nearly cried.

Twilight: "Cheer up, Thomas, let's go back and try again."

Narrator: So Thomas reversed his engine and drove it back to the station. At the station, everyone was grumbling that the railway was bad, but when they saw how sad Thomas was, they couldn't be cross.

Thomas: "I'm sorry, everyone, I was new to actually pulling coaches"

Thomas' engine was coupled to the train and this time, His engine really pulled it. But in the weeks following, the other drivers and firewomen laughed and mocked Thomas and Twilight.

Gordon: "Look there's Thomas, who wanted to pull a train but forgot about the coaches."

Rainbow Dash: *giggles*

Narrator: But Thomas has learned now not to make the same mistake again.
